A journal from the Renaissance era...

Updated: Jun 24, 2022

Hello people and here I am, with an artistic book I have designed as a result from the work of one of my modules. The book is a design that represents a journal of a person from the past in a time where art and architecture was only recently starting to be further explored.

The task is to choose specific topics in from the lectures and write essays about them and explore them further. The topics chosen correlate to the idea of the renaissance journal and are written in a way to suggest the topics being introduced and explained at their time.

Maximus, the character that owns the fellowship journal explores those topics in a messy way. This would suggest the urgency in writing as much as possible and collecting all of the work.

The approach of the journal is completely different from what I usually like to do which is clean, symmetrical work that is nicely put together.

Basically, it is the opposite; with mixed media as my main artistic approach, I decided to let go of my usual style for a moment and learn about something new through this journal. Although looking messing, putting each piece was a calculated move.
