Welcome readers to the beginning of the end; the final major project. This post will highlight everything that is done as part of research which will be used to start creating what is supposed to be the end point of this project.
The project is about looking at extreme architecture and adapt into the dystopian future whether that be cyberpunk, end of the world, apocolyptic, etc.
The way I will be approaching this project is through an architectural perspective and element experimentation to produce a final model(s) to represent one or more of the factors as part of a dystopian matter in a time in the future where life will not be as it is today.
I have further explored the concepts: Dystopia, as in the imperfect world where there is a lack due to rebellions demanding freedom and free will causing chaos because of a mysterious notion that the world does not agree with.
Utopia, or the perfect world in the future where everyone is healthy, crime rates are low, everything is secured and safe but free will is somewhat manipulated to become chosen by a higher-up.
Futurism, which are the general advancements done to achieve a future is led by smart devices and buildings that make people's lives better with ofcourse its disadvantages.
Cyberpunk, the high-tech low-life future where technology has taken over and A.I is the center of all tasks, a life that is mostly alive at night.
and the conditions of the planets in the solar system.
The interest of imagining what designing on different planets would be like is what resulted in the final idea of looking at the lacking factors that sustain human life and think, in a dystopian way, what it would be like to build with the lack of specific factors that help sustain life and whether it is possible to live in such extreme conditions. This will help me further explore unconventional materials and explore an original idea that has not yet been exploited.
Ofcourse I won't be taking the factors literally as they cause mass extinction of the human race but instead look at the possible ways this could happen and how the world should prepare for these kind of disasters. The factors chosen were imagining when there is : no oxygen, no clean air, no flat ground, no gravity, no nature, no water, no ice, no light. The mind map shows the initial research undertaken. After that, the factors were were further eliminated to becoming two: no light and no ice caps. The information collected from many sources whether primary or secondary were then used to make the proposed models in the link below.
